Knitting Under the Willow Tree Day at the Natural Dye Studio
knitters enjoying being under the willow tree
Jan and I (Teresa) enjoyed a lovely Knitting Under the Willow Tree Day at The Natural Dye Studio in August. There are lots of lovely photo's here on Jojo's Ravelry page. There was a barbeque and a knitted sheep show and tell and lots of knitting and nattering. Amanda who runs The Natural Dye Studio gave a quick tour of her dye workroom and we were able to buy wool and patterns from the shop. Amanda uses natural dyes for her yarns and the colours are very pretty. The studio can be found in Hollesley near Woodbridge in Suffolk and if you click on the link above you will be able to find more details and buy online. The Natural Dye Studio will also be at the IKnit Weekend on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 September.
I had a lot of fun knitting a pair of sheep in Rowan Purelife British Sheep Wool DK - here's how they turned out:
Hopefully there will be another Knitting under the Willow Tree day next August and for those of you who have had withdrawal symptoms with their being no Knit and Natter at Growing Together that month it would help fill the gap!

July
The next Knit and Natter meeting is on Thursday, 8th July 2010 and I can't wait. It's so nice to make the time to do this as my life as a mum and sole trader is so hectic!! After learning to knit as a child, I've re-found my love for it and started knitting again about 2 or 3 years ago. I started Knit & Natter as there seemed to be such a local need for knitting groups and found the perfect location at Growing Together. It's been a great year, and I've met so many lovely, lovely people through such a simple thing!!
There seems to have been a constant supply of babies from my friends to knit for so at the moment I have around 4 projects on the go at once!! I'm aiming to finish off one set: a teddy, booties, a cardigan and a blanket this week, which will head off to my good friends in Holland!! I'm also working on a pretty heart blanket for my sister-in-law and a vibrant summer scarf for myself! Of course, the pieces I do for myself always go on the back burner so it will probably get finished for next summer!!
Till the next time, happy knitting and we'd love to see you at Knit & Natter.
